If stem cells can be used to regenerate or produce new blood and skin, why can’t stem cells repair other organs like the heart or liver?

Answer

Repairing damage in complex organs where many different types of cells may have been injured (such as the brain after a stroke or the failing heart) presents many more challenges. However in Australian scientists lead the world in building and repairing heart muscles.
