Professor Alice Pébay, BSc (Psych) PhD

Professor Alice Pébay AM is a Professor at the University of Melbourne and Innovation Lead at Melbourne Medical School. She is also a founder and the Chief Operating Officer of CellTellus, and contributes to national research infrastructure through Phenomics Australia.

Professor Pébay’s work focuses on patient-derived stem cell models to understand disease mechanisms and accelerate translation, with particular emphasis on disorders affecting the eye and central nervous system. Her research spans the development of disease-relevant human cell types and scalable, reproducible methods to support discovery and preclinical research.

She has contributed to intellectual property in stem cell technology, including granted patents, and supports translation through industry engagement, including consulting and advisory work.

In 2023, Professor Pébay was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to stem cell and neuroscience research.
