Stem cell research cannot happen without help!
Your gift, however small, will enable scientists to continue their research into using stem cells to relieve pain and suffering, and enable us to continue our public education and outreach activities.

Heart disease is Australia’s single leading cause of death killing more than 18,500 people a year, or one every 28 minutes.
Cardiologist and researcher Associate Professor James Chong has already used human stem cells to repair the damaged hearts of other large primates — a world first.
Now he’s ready to start a five-year project that aims to bring the therapy to a clinical trial with patients who have had heart attacks.
With your support, the National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia wants to help fund James’ research and bring it to clinical trials.
The Foundation is aiming to provide $1 million in funding for this project and will match, dollar-for-dollar, every donation made. Donations must be at least $500 and the total of donations made cannot exceed $500,000.
If you would like your donation to be targeted specifically to this initiative, please use the online payment function in this section and, when prompted, specify ‘heart’ as the specific project you would like your donation allocated to. We will then match the amount you've donated and send the total amount to James at Westmead Institute of Medical Research.

Type 1 diabetes is currently incurable, can be life-threatening, and, unlike type 2, can't be prevented through better diet and lifestyle choices. In 2015, the disease claimed 800 Australian lives.
Professor Bernie Tuch has been searching for a cure for more than 40 years. He’s getting close to it with the help of the unlikely combination of stem cells and seaweed.
With your support, the National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia wants to help fund Bernie’s research and bring this life-changing treatment to clinical trials.

Stem cell medicine is already transforming the lives of countless people worldwide. Life-threatening diseases and painful conditions that can’t be cured today, could one day be treated thanks to stem cell scientists who are working in Australia right now.
While Australia has always led the world in stem cell science, more and more, talented researchers are taking their expertise and potentially life-changing projects elsewhere as there simply isn’t enough funding in Australia.
The Foundation is a small but passionate team, working with world-renowned stem cell scientists and committed to supporting promising young researchers. Help us to make breakthroughs here in Australia, that can change the lives of people all over the world.
Stem cell science and regenerative medicine represents the hopes and dreams of a future where doctors and clinicians have more answers than they do today.
It might be an empowering decision, and a positive experience to donate on behalf of a loved one. Some supporters of the Foundation choose to give in memory of someone they loved.
If you choose to give in this way, we thank you for your grace and generosity. If you would like us to acknowledge your gift in a special way that honours the person you love, please contact Graeme so that we can respect your wishes.
If you would like to direct donations to the National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia in lieu of flowers, we can provide you with the information brochure (below) that enables people to donate by EFT or cheque. If you would like more information, please contact Graeme Mehegan via [email protected] or 0418 588 040.

If you would like to make a regular donation through your workplace and you are a member of Good2Give, you can donate through our profile page.
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors who have many years of experience in the fields of medical research, biotechnology and governance. The Foundation board members all donate their time as they passionately believe that this technology can ultimately relieve pain and suffering for countless people in the future, and that Australian scientists have a critical role to play in the development of the technology.
By donating!
We work with Australia’s stem cell research scientists and the Australian research community to support their research efforts. This ensures we’re up to date with what’s at the forefront of stem cell research. An expert scientific panel identifies and assesses the targets for research support.
