The National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia would like to express its gratitude to the Estate of the late Gordon Lapham. The Foundation is extremely fortunate to have received a substantial bequest from the Lapham Estate that will support the work of stem cell research far into the future.
The Lapham Bequest will help support the NSCFA grants program that brings student and early career researchers to major scientific conferences. In this way the Bequest will help the next generation of Australian stem cell scientists make new discoveries for years to come.
During his illness, Mr Lapham researched treatments that are currently unavailable or that may have great potential in the future. He became interested in stem cell science and came across our Foundation through his own research.
Recently the NSCFA was delighted to meet Mrs Gwendoline Johns and her two daughters Lisa and Trish. They attended the 2018 Metcalf Prize presentation in Melbourne in November.
When scientists discover treatments for currently incurable diseases, we provide a better future for everyone. If you are considering supporting stem cell researchers to achieve this aim, you may like to learn how to include a gift in your Will.
